We are an interdisciplinary research group with interests spanning physics, chemistry, and materials science & engineering. Our current research efforts are strongly focused on two-dimensional layered nanomaterials. 2D materials, from layered chalcogenides to graphene, nitrides, and oxides, are an exciting new field with potential impact in both fundamental studies and application oriented development. Our work encompasses every aspect of 2D nanomaterials including: developing new synthetic growth methods and novel chemical methods/techniques for electro-optical tailoring, optical property measurements, and direct application.
